Day 6: P90X Legs and Back

So today is Saturday and I woke up from bed DREADING to do the workout. Nevertheless, I made myself get up and do Legs&Back. I am actually pretty disappointed with myself. I didn't quite feel as accomplished as I usually do after finishing a P90X workout. This workout was also an hour of hell! There was just no way that I was going to finish it! I did, however, do about 87% of the workout. I had a lot of trouble with the wall squats and when it came time for the single leg wall squats, I just gave up. This is actually the first time I have done this with P90X. I cannot believe I did that.

After the gruesome hour of squats and repeated chin ups (which I still use the bands for), there was just no way that I would be able to do Ab Ripper X, so once again I skipped it altogether. I am actually pretty guilty for doing this so instead of a full day of rest tomorrow, I am going to try to stick in 15 mins for Ab Ripper. Hopefully I'll have some time!

Anyway, I cannot wait until next week to do this work out all over. I just know that I can, and will do better!

One week of P90X down, 12 more to go! Oh, and I lost 1+ pound(s) this week! That’s amazing. I thought that I hit a plateau and wouldn't be able to lose any more weight after losing 16 pounds 2 weeks prior to P90X. I guess the whole muscle confusion concept really does work! Six Pack abs, and a low body fat percentage.. here I come! **crosses my fingers**

Day 5: P90X Kempo X

So after yesterday’s extemporaneous hiatus, I decided to bring it extra hard today! (On a side not, I really want the p90X shirt up there. Either that or the muscle shirt. Maybe I'll order myself one when I finish the program!) Which was pretty hard to do considering that today's workout was a breeze! It wasn't completely easy, just does not met the P90X standard. Although I thought this workout was easier that the other ones, I am still going to them every Friday. Reason is because I think that it is a great way to finish off a long, hard week. Almost like a little recovery day. The 10 minute yoga/stretch also helped a lot! (Although I wouldn't mind shortening it) Though it was seemed effortless, I was still pretty soaked with my own sweat by the end of the hour. Also by mid-day, my arms, especially my forearms, started to be sore. Again, this feeling is something that I almost look forward to. It makes me feel like I worked hard! Anyway, this is it for today! Legs and Back tomorrow!

Day 4: ..

.. was supposed to be Shoulder&Arms BUT I woke up late! My alarm clock was partly to blame, and me because I set it later than usual. Here is what happened:

My friend gave me a dvd to burn my p90x videos on. I could have just made a data disc but I thought it would be nice of me to burn him an actual dvd. You know, the ones that you can actually play in the dvd player. Anywho, I found a free dvd burner software online and started as soon as I got home. I figured that it wouldn't take long but I didn't account for the size of the files and the length it takes to encode them. At around 10 o'clock I realized that it won't finish for another couple of hours so I decided to set an alarm for 1 o'clock in the morning. When the alarm rung, I got up, checked on the computer and saw that it only had 2 minutes left. I got up, sat down on my desk, and waited. The damn software lied and took at least another 10 minutes. To make things worse, at 99.9% it gave me a pop up which said : FAILED. sigh, I tried everything in the book and 30 minutes later I decided to go to bed. At the thought of me getting up in 3 hours, I decided to change my alarm and skip today’s workout. Needless to say, I was pretty happy because I had been extremely sore all week! Anywho, tomorrows Kempo X! Let see how it goes!

Post.Script.
That was a pretty legitimate reason to skip a day right?

Day 3: P90X Cardio X

Whoo, another day down, alot more to go. After the Plyometiric workout on Monday, Cardio X seemed really easy. Well not easy , but you know easier! I really think that I am starting to see some results from P90X. Not only that but I have been really sore all week long! This sucks, but in a good way!

So I have been really excited about p90X that I can't seem to stop talking about it. Like I said before, I 'insipired' a couple of my friends to do the workouts with me! At least one of them is really taking the time to follow the program! This helps both me and him! I hope we survive this 90 days of hell! Well thats all for now. Tomorrow: Shoulders and Arms!

Day 2: P90X Chest&Back

Whoa, so I woke up today feeling every muscle sore from my belly button down! Intense! It Sucks! but at the same time it felt kinda good! Makes me feel like I worked really hard yesterday! Oh and for the record. I DID. Plyo sucked. Chest and Back wasn't as bad as Plyo. Although it did have its tough elements, it was nothing compared to yesterday. Maybe it I didn't push myself hard enough, or maybe its because of the things that I tweaked.

Ok so first of all, I decided to not use the chin up bar that i have ( the ones that hang on the door) for the first session. I figured it would be better to get use to the resistant bands before I actually attempted to do 330+ chin ups! Yes, pretty genius right? Oh and another reason why I didn't use the chin up bar: I didn't have a door nearby or anywhere I could hang it on. I would have stuck it on my room's door but I didnt wanna walk back in forth between the excersizes. Time is precious you know! Especially when you just have an hour to finish the workout and you have to get ready for school right after!

Secondly, Ab Ripper X. Okay, so I cheated a bit and decided to do this workout last night. Again it was to save me some time and be able to sleep a bit longer. Now about the workout itself: HARD. If I had to grade myself, I would probaby give myself a 65%! I tried really hard to do what they did at the speed they were doing them but near the end everything got to be really sloppy! Hopefully I would be able to get better as I progress through the rest of this program!

In other news, I was so sore today that I could barely walk! School was a pain! And the stairs! wow! And as the day progressed I started to feel more and more sore. By 2:30 my upper body started to hurt too. Im guessing that thats from this mornings workout! Again, it sucks.. BUT I LIKE IT! oh, and i was talking about P90X to some of my friends and I convinced two of them to do it with me! Im not quite sure as to when they are going to start the program but Im hoping that it's soon! It would be really benificial to all of us if we all do it together. Motivate each other you know!

Well thats it for today, be back tomorrow for .. P90X Cardio X? I originally had Core Synergistics but I think that I'm gonna save that for the recovery week . I guess I'll just do whatever I decided to do tomorrow! (:

Note to self (and others who are reading): Remember to bring a chart to track pushups and chin ups!

Day 1: P90X Plyometrics

So today marks my 90 day journey to a healthier lifestyle. Holy Cow. If today gives an accurate taste of what the rest of this program has in store for me.. I AM SCREWED. P90X does NOT PLAY. I did about 2 weeks or so of Power 90 and got pretty used to the workouts. I thought that it was too easy and therefore 'upgraded' to P90X. After this first workout, Im starting to question myself as to why i wanted to go for something harder. I would quit now, but what good will that do right? Anyway, to start things off, heres a list of the things that you have to do in Plyometrics:

- Jump Squat ,Run Stance Squats ,Airborne Heismans ,Swing Kicks

- Squat Reach Jumps ,Run Stance Squat Switch Pick Ups ,Double Airborne Heismans ,Circle Run

- Jump Knee Tucks ,Mary Katherine Lunges ,Leapfrog Squats ,Twist Combos

- Rock Star Hops ,Gag Jumps ,Squat Jacks ,Military Marches

- Run Squat 180 ,Lateral Leapfrog Squats ,Monster Truck Tire Jumps ,Hot Foot Jumps

- BONUS! ,Pitch & Catch ,Jump Shots ,Football Hero

Fun Right! Oh and did I mention that each sequence is repeated twice! I can't believe I got through it all! It was barely in the second sequence and I was ready to stop! I was practically crying when I thought we finished after the third sequence only to find out that i was just 'half way through'! BOMBER! This is by far the hardest workout I have ever done in my life! I actually just finished a couple of hours ago and I am already starting to get sore. I am both excited and really nervous for tomorrow! I have read a few blogs on the internet and most people say that they feel so weak the second day. Tomorrow is also a school day so I have to wake up at around 4:50 to get my workout in before school. Whatever happens, I will try my best this week and I will keep pushing play! Most P90x Grads say that the first week is the worse but keep pushing because the results are worth the sweat and hard work!

So the Schedule that I came up with is a little tweaked from the ones that came with the program. I also decided to incorporate some Insanity Workouts here and there. Insanity is suppose to be a bit more challenging that P90X so I may or may to change that later. Also I may use Power 90 Sculpt workouts for alternative of the Chest&Back and Shoulder&Arms.
